In re Cipro Cases I and II - Nos. 4154 and 4220
Settlement Fund: $225,000,000 (third phase)
Settlement Period: January 8, 1997 and December 31, 2005
Claim Filing Deadline: May 31, 2017
The settlement arose from allegations that Bayer, Barr Laboratories, Inc., Hoechst Marion Roussel, Inc., Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and The Rugby Group, Inc. (the “Defendants”) violated antitrust and consumer protection laws by agreeing not to compete with each other and keeping lower-cost generic versions of Cipro off the market. Such actions would allegedly have artificially maintained or increased the price of the drug.
The settlement benefits all persons or entities who purchased or paid for the prescription drug Cipro in California between January 8, 1997 and December 31, 2005.
This is the “third phase” of this settlement where a claims process is available for additional settling Defendants. The most recent phase had a fund of $100 million and the expectation is that payments will be distributed before the end of 2017.
This settlement requires documentation to support and accompany the filing. An MCAG Representative will assist clients with gathering and providing necessary reports and information to complete your claim for this immediate opportunity.
